CHALLENGES

A VISION THEN GOAL
OR A WONDERFUL DREAM
CAREFULLY PLANNED STEPS
WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN

LOOK BACK TO A TIME
WHEN DAYS WENT SO SLOW
DEW DROPS ON GRASS
DANCING SUN RAYS AGLOW

THE PRESSURE AND CONSTRAINTS
COMPOUNDED EACH DAY
IS THIS REALLY THE LIFE
YOU WANTED TO PLAY

SO MANY MORE THINGS
WE ALL WANT TO LEARN
WHAT IS FORGOTTEN
JUST LEFT TO BURN

IS THERE SOMETHING SMOULDERING
DEEP IN YOUR MIND
WAITING TO BE IGNITED
WILL IT BE KIND

PLEASE DON'T IGNORE
THE DEPTH OF YOU
CONFORMING TO MASSES
IS NOTHING NEW

THE SURFACE OF LIFE
IS ONLY A COVER
PEEL AWAY THE CRUST
MUCH MORE TO DISCOVER

REVEAL TO YOURSELF
JUST WHO YOU CAN BE
A MAGICAL PERSON
WE ALL NEED TO SEE

WHAT WILL REMAIN
WHEN OUR LIGHT GOES OUT
A PURPOSEFUL LIFE
LEAVE NO DOUBT

BREATHE FOR A MOMENT
SEE BEAUTY AROUND
THE SUN RISE, THE MOON RISE
AND LOOK TO THE GROUND

A BUTTERFLY LANDING
ON A DANCING LEAF
A BUG EXPLORING
THE GROUND BENEATH

THE PURPOSE OF THIS POEM
MY HOPE TO INSPIRE
NOTHING MORE NOTHING LESS
I WISH; ALL YOU DESIRE!

I found an interesting website during my research, it seems in posting my original questions in my first Blog I now have some answers.  It is undisputed that we are able to reach more people than ever before and not everyone is on an equal playing field. Adapting services to accommodate all people will continue to provide a challenge for us all, but we now have the technology to enable us a greater capacity to work together, helping people across the globe.  People who have a form of disability now have a greater world reach because of the web and are able to access social media and other sites.  While Internet usage has not reached all people, the ever increasing way in which sites are being developed are catering to large groups of people and the more people able to have access to it may in turn be able to reach others in a secondary way.  We may very well be losing something, but we are also gaining a wider reach across the globe and more connectivity in a capacity never seen before.  With all evolution there are key transitional points and maybe with the explosion of new technology we are now in a transitory stage and trying to adapt to it in a socially acceptable way.

WHAT IS LOST?

Social media has made a difference in my life but still am considering what is lost in order to gain....is there a trade off in some way.  Could it be possible that the more technically advanced we become and the more people we are able to reach in business and in the social arena could in fact actually mean we are losing something?  Consider for a moment if you will the laws of nature; the law of balance, for every new adventure we trade something that we may not even be aware of until a later time or maybe we are aware but are willing to trade, are you trading something by using social media as a way of communication?  Maybe the more we connect through social media avenues and the like, the less we are connected on a deeper emotional level.  Are we breeding mentally / technically connected people who are emotionally disconnected?  Do we agree that there is something lost in translation in for example emails and text messages; have you ever been misunderstood in this form of communication, I know I have?  We may become desensitized to human emotion because we are not using all our senses with this technology like we would in person.  I do believe that Social Media has risen to a level that only a few years ago would have been unimaginable, this far reaching Media has not allowed people to catch up to what is Socially acceptable etiquette in this form; although in saying that, there is the old saying that could really be applied here and is quite simple. 'Don't do/say to others that you would not like being done/said about you'

NEARLY HALF WAY

I can't believe that it is week 5 already, so much information to not only take in and understand but to also use it alone and within a group has left me feeling somewhat drained.  I have to wonder if I'm alone in my thoughts or if I have company.  I love all the new tools that I have been using and am excited about the new skills I am gaining.  Putting them all into practice and being mindful not to let other people down has been in the forefront of my mind this is the reason I am spending much more time than I had originally planned on this subject.  I am finding that I am researching and experimenting just to enable me to have a better understanding of the basics.  The tips that class members are providing are invaluable, thank you.

FEELING SOMEWHAT CALMER NOW

I have been trying to set up and understand the various forms of communication that I, along with my classmates will be using over the next few weeks and although I have felt overwhelmed I am excited about the possibilities that can be opened up as a result.  The world is now literally, at my finger tips. Having worked most of my adult life as an employee, with a brief stint of a few years as an employer; I am exploring the option of starting my own business once again and believe the skills I gain in this subject will be invaluable.  I am enjoying reading my classmates Blogs, Twitter and Google plus posts and I'm doing my best to keep up to speed and to learn what is acceptable and interesting to others.

SOCIAL MEDIA CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Studying Communication Management over the next couple of months I will explore different types of Social Media.  Learning about the advantages and disadvantages for individuals and workplace usage.
A question that has been asked numerous times is, Can one person alone make a difference in the world?  There is frequently less dispute that one person united with many CAN make a vast difference!
This brings me to my question that directly relates to Social Media:
Can Social Media unite people to make positive inroads into establishing equality for all people around the globe??
